Hydranencephaly is a congenital abnormality characterized by complete or almost absence of cerebral hemisphere, which is replace by a cerebrospinal fluid filled cavity. The midbrain and brainstem are relatively intact. The prognosis for

hopeless and that for survival may be poor, most children dying within months.
